Ballyliffin Irish Open 2018
From July 5th to July 8th , the eyes of the golfing world will be firmly on the
Ballyliffin Golf Club in County Donegal. This spectacular course will finally take
its place in the spotlight when The Ballyliffin Irish Open 2018 kicks off later this year.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the course and are planning on making
the journey to Donegal, let us tell you, you are in for a real treat. The course itself
is situated on the Inishowen Peninsula, one of the most breath-taking spots in the
country and boasts 36 holes of immaculate golf.
Best known for its associations with world-renowned golfer Rory McIlroy, this
course will now take centre stage under its own steam. McIlroy has been playing
at Ballyliffin since 2005 where he attended every Scratch Cup until he turned
professional. His loyalty to the club has always been apparent during interviews
and press conferences, so it’s no surprise that he was a driving factor in the
choice for this years Open. Rory McIlroy and his foundation will be the hosts of
this year’s tournament.
